What is Organic Farming?

Organic farming system in India is not new it is being followed from ancient time.It aims at cultivating land and raising crops in such a way as to keep soil alive in good health by use of organic waste and other biological material along with benificial microbes. Mainly organic farming is a system which avoids synthetic inputs like (fertilizer,pesticides and growth hormone) and completely rely upon crop rotation,organic waste and other biological practices.

Some of the organic agricultural practices in india are: Vermicomposting,Green manuring,Water harvesting and soil conservation,Polyculture,Natural farming,Specialised organic farming techniques,Pest and weed control,Mulching,Crop rotation.

Organic farming methods combine scientific knowledge of ecology and some modern  technology  with  traditional farming  practices based on naturally occurring biological processes done by some of the microbes like  mycorrhiza, bacteria,fungi etc.
